Truth or myth? Is a low salt diet healthy?

So how much salt should you add? The general recommendation is simply add salt to taste, especially if you're eating a whole-food diet, which generally doesn't contain much sodium.

When adding salt to your food, be sure to use natural, unprocessed salt because this is what your body actually needs.

Low salt intake might cause more harm than good.

If you don't get enough salt, your body starts taking sodium from your bones, which also strips your bone of magnesium and calcium to maintain a normal sodium level.
